Football Cheeseball
Updated: Feb 2, 2023
Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?
Actually - I'm just here for the snacks. Like THIS delicious cheeseball. Give me all the dips and chips and crackers - okay - I really like wings too.
Are YOU at the game for snacks? If so - read on!
This cheeseball is SO simple - despite how many ingredients you see - it's extremely customizable! Your base - cream cheese, butter and choice of shredded cheese. After that you can choose how much of each ingredient you like and you can omit if desired. If you like a lot of flavor and a bit of a jalapeño popper style taste then utilize the full recipe (keep in mind that you may need mints on hand for a few days - #sharingiscaring).
Want EASY?? Oh okay - I'm here for that! Make the cheeseball portion a few days in advance, you can even prep the topping ingredients beforehand and bag seperately, then on party day roll in toppings and plate it with crackers.
Today on GOOD THINGS UTAH I shared how to make this incredibly delicious cheeseball for your next Super Bowl party.
See the full video HERE and read on for the full recipe.
SUPER BOWL CHEESE BALL RECIPE
16 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup butter, softened
8 oz shredded cheese
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
Hot sauce to taste (optional)
2 green onions, chopped
1 fresh jalapeño, chopped (seeded if desired)
1/2 cup pickled jalapeños, chopped
1 TBL pickled jalapeno juice
(you can even add shredded chicken for protein)
Topping:
1/3 cup seasoned Panko bread crumbs
4 slices bacon, cooked and finely chopped
1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
1 green onion, chopped
White cheese sliced into strips for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS Mix cheese ball ingredients in a mixer until combined. Scrape sides and mix again. Place onto plastic wrap and shape into an oval. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Note: you can make this part a few days in advance.
Combine topping ingredients in a shallow dish. Remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator (shaping again if needed) and roll in topping ingredients. Place onto a plate or platter and add "laces" with white cheese.
Serve with your favorite crackers, pretzels or chips!
ENJOY!
